I came to see Dr. Willcox a few months after I experienced sudden hearing loss and pulsatile tinnitus. I had seen a previous ENT physician that misdiagnosed it as an ear infection on several visits despite abnormal imaging, and after finally referring me to see a neurotology ENT physician I decided to see Dr. Willcox at Jefferson instead of continuing at Penn Medicine. Didn’t even bother to review my hearing test with me and told me to call him if my symptoms bothered me. Why would I be there if my symptoms were not bothering me? What a waste of my time. Horrible doctor and I use the term doctor loosely.

After 40 years of ever improving and more expensive hearing aids, my word recognition declined to the point where the aids no longer helped. I had a Cochlear Implant surgically inserted about two months ago. Today every time that I connect the receiver and my new hearing clicks on, I smile and wish that I had done it years ago.
