Dr. Sutton's first words at our daughter's follow up appointment: why are you here today? He gave the impression he hadn't read the notes on our daughter's history. We brought him up to speed. He condescendingly explained our daughter’s tests and procedures had turned up no issues, stated there was nothing more they could do, pounced on a single stat (her BMI) and based on that single number, suddenly had her on the verge of starvation, requiring hospitalization and a tube feeding. I was impressed. I felt he was very thorough and took the time to answer any questions I had. He was personable and made my daughter feel at ease. His nurse was also amazing and had a great bed side manner. I had multiple appointments and never had to wait long periods before being seen. I feel like I received great care from Dr. Sutton.
He was insensitive and didn't care to hear the history of my child's stomach issues. He kept interrupting me, rolling his eyes and saying "Why are you here to see me today?". Asked me if my 11-year-old has ever been diagnosed with HIV or AIDS... WHAT? Quickly diagnosed him with Celiacs Disease or a Parasite from a trip to Mexico we took a week ago, even tho we've had this problem for over 6 months. Um, NO!!! I paid a $50 copay to be treated like I was an unintelligent horrible mother.
I would not recommend Dr. Sutton. He was cold and distant, and talked down to me, assuming negative things about my parenting without even getting to know me. He spent much of the time trying to make me feel bad instead of doing his job: realistically assessing the problem and helping my daughter get better. Don’t go to Dr. Sutton! You’ll just be wasting your money and time. I felt like I should have charged him for the visit.
