After a previous surgeon failed to make progress with my AVM, he gave up and referred me to Dr. Yakes. The Yakes VMC has been treating me for the past 3 months and their staff are all amazing, but more importantly, I’m finally seeing progress.
Dr. Yakes and his staff offer patients and their families the most compassionate care imaginable. When my mom was 19, doctors in Michigan told her that she would be lucky make it to 29. Thanks to numerous treatments with Dr. Yakes, she made it to 43 and saw me graduate high school. I have many childhood memories talking with he and his nurses and them always making sure my mother was comfortable and that my sister and I knew what was going on and checking that we were okay.
Dr Yakes and his staff at Swedish Medical Center treat you as though you were family. Having 28 treatments done within about 3 years and the team and I are hoping I am almost done! Dr. Yakes and his staff are ALL AMAZING and caring!!!
Our daughter SaVanna is 12 years old and started going to Dr. Yakes when she was 3 years old. He is an outstanding doctor and knows how to treat AVMs. Our daughter has an Avm in her lip and her nose. Before we went to Dr. Yakes doctors at UNC hospital had burned a hole in her skin that left a terrible scar. We then found Dr. Yakes on the internet which was a blessing from God. He started treating SaVanna and has made her avm so small that it’s hardly noticed. Dr. Yakes has years of experience and knows what he is doing!
When no one else could help me with my pain, I was lucky enough to be referred to Dr. Yakes by a coworker. Dr. Yakes and the staff at Swedish Hospital have helped me improve my daily life with his innovative procedures and caring staff. I have been going there for 9 years now, and looks like I am finally getting close to closing this chapter of my life. Thank you!
Wonderful Doctor and Staff. I have been going to him for treatment for the past 6 to 7 years! Thank you Doctor Yakes for all you do!
