RecommendedExceptional fried chicken. The stuff dreams are made of. Surprise star of the night though: Sauteed sweet corn. Oh,mama. Fried green tomatoes were decent enough...the breading the best of it...but it would have been better with crab. Didn't make it to the plate. It was on the menu, but couldn't read it very well since it was so bloody dark in there. Combine that with brown menus with black lettering in too small a font and you're going to miss some things. BYOT: Bring your own torch. Or daytime is always an option.
RecommendedLove the warm space, welcoming staff, and comfort-food menu, perfectly prepared every time. It's one of our fave Portland restaurants when we want to eat well, without a lot of pretense or hoopla. We lean toward the excellent fried chicken and the double-patty burger. Desserts are seasonal and top-notch as well.

Great food and atmosphere. Best set up for oysters Iv ever had. Chef are great and the service goes along with it!
