The Wooden Spoon is a great spot for enjoying inventive food in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Decked in art, the eatery has quite a charm which is effortlessly carried into their food as well. A brainchild of Chef Steve Pilon, the menu focuses on the use of local ingredients and innovative techniques. Interesting salads, sandwiches and wraps along with their famous lunch box are popular items on their lunch menu, while the dinner menu is lined with varieties of tapas. Had some of the best meals of my life at The Wooden Spoon! The changing seasonal menu challenges my palate and encourages me to try things that I never thought I would like...and I’ve loved everything! Current favorites are the Thai Mussels and the Quinoa and Green Chile Enchiladas. Chef Pilon and his staff are clearly passionate about great food, cocktails and service...it shows.
Everything was great except I was a smidge disappointed when the waitress told me that the soup of the day was potato and bacon soup. I thought that sounded really good and looked forward to having it. Until someone from the kitchen brought me out chicken chili. I explained that I wanted the potato soup and was told they were out of it. :-( That sounded kinda yummy. But everything else was great. :-)
This is the best meal I have had in Michigan. I have been here for 2 weeks eating out lunch and dinner. This has been the best overall meal yet. My co-worker and I went for lunch and we were floored. I'll be back.
Great Salad, Great Service!!!!!!! Always delicious and timely!!!!!
The food was incredible, and the service was great...a true hidden gem...
It is not close for me but sure worth the drive! Yum!
This cozy and hip restaurant has friendly wait staff, spacey! tables, and incredibly unique dinner dishes. When I ordered the gnocchi dinner, it was the first time I had this meal without meat! In its place was acorn squash along with hand-made potato gnocchi which I think was fried and dipped in a vegetable sauce of some kind. The side salad was super fresh and balsamic dressing that was out of this world! My husband loved his bowl of tomato soup with basil and cheese on top! Everything was incredibly delicious!
