Browsing through Colonial Williamsburg is nothing short of stumbling upon a portal to history. And in this bustling historic street, The Trellis manages to be a great complement to the charming appeal of this tourist location. The Trellis serves American cuisine which covers fresh seafood, duck, meaty dishes and decadent desserts. The most famous 'Death by Chocolate' is said to have been invented here! The decor is pleasant with a beautifully maintained patio with green shrubbery and eclectic plants. The Trellis is a great v... read more

The Trellis: Fabulous food at fantastic Prices When visiting nearby Williamsburg with my parents, we dined at The Trellis. It really is a world-class restaurant. In fact, it was started by renowned chef Marcel Desaulnier. There is a variety of fare available at The Trellis, and one can dine inside or outside ion the patio under the shelter of an umbrella. The restaurant is located in the heart of hstoric Williamsburg, so there is plenty of ambiance. As for food, there is a wide selection of salads, sandwiches, quiche (which ... read more
Do not eat there My daughter had planned my birthday dinner --4 adults and a 3, 6 and 7 year old. We had reservations at 5:45 but no entrees nearly two hours later! That is tooooooo long and we had not seen our waitress in about an hour--no telling us what had happened, no refilling our bread basket etc. I can not comment on the food as I had none! Two people did have appatizers but the other five had no food. Then the waitress was argumenitive as one person had gone to the bathroom so it was our fault. We left. Makes me mad... read more
One of my favorite restaurants... I have been to the Trellis several times, and I have never had any problems with long waits for food or rude servers. My husband and I love going to the Trellis for dessert and coffee, but we have eaten dinner there a number of times as well. The atmosphere is wonderful and the staff and servers are friendly, professional, and helpful. Although, the food is a bit pricey, it is well worth it! Definitely try Death by Chocolate if you're getting a dessert!
service not very good We ate lunch at the Trellis Restaurant over Veterans Day weekend, mainly because it was the only one it town with no line. The service was slow and the food only so-so. The party at the table across from us (at least 6 people) all had something wrong with their orders, such as entree was cold or made wrong. Maybe we caught them on a bad day but we wouldn't go back.
Interesting meal combinations
Always a lovely dining experience. John’s Island stew and chicken pot pie are personal favorites! Atmosphere & staff top notch.
Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich with Fries Egg and the BBQ Chicken Sandwich! Let's not forget the Decandant Death By Chocolate Cake!
Loved the taste of our selections, which included Butter Chicken Pot Pie and Salmon. Our service was grand, so we were happy! And the location was perfect for walking about town.
Great experience. Will definitely go again!!
