Poorly written, idiotic cartoons, and NOT respectful of local citizen's views. I felt like I needed a teacher's red pen every time I read it. I gave up on this rag years ago.
I can't believe the Times-Record squandered an opportunity to follow up on their brief story last fall about the Popham pilings controversy in favor of a tone-deaf cartoon labeling these iconic structures as "trash" while ignoring the fact that the vast majority of people OPPOSE their removal. Look to the Bangor Daily News to see how a real reporter covered this story.
What was with your cartoon printed in reference to the pilings at Popham? I found it in poor taste and lousy artwork! Importing a crummy artist with poor taste! I did notice that you cropped your wall photo to exclude the trash that is in the original photo - that was a good decision! I do not subscribe to the paper now and I won't in the future! The Times Record showed very poor taste today publishing an editorial cartoon regarding the removal of the Steamship Wharf pilings in Popham Beach. Bad form to take a stance on a very sensitive local issue, which benefits one person who seemly unconcerned about his community......

Why is it that I have to read about Brunswick news from the Bangor paper. The Times-record does not do a very good job of reporting Brunswick news. A couple of weeks ago I read about the lawsuit between Bowdoin college and a homeowner. Nothing in the Times-Record. Today I read in the Bangor paper about ....Neighbors suing Brunswick ask council to delay sale of waterfront land. So why isn't the Times-record reporting Brunswick news? That is why the one star.
