The Tiger's Den is my favorite place to hang out in St Joe and even better than any place in KC. Brian and Amy are lovely hosts. The house made cocktails are delicious and creatively mixed. And you can READ there.
Sometimes I just go into the Den to pretend I'm reading books so people think I'm smart. If I have a few drinks in me, I have a very inquisitive look on my face while pretending to read. That just heightens my creditability as an intellectual... although I'm really just buzzed - it's the alcohol. Regardless the Tiger's Den makes my dreams possible! One day I will read a book for real!
If you want to meet someone for drinks in a joint where you have to shout over Seether on the jukebox while four dudes in knockoff Affliction shirts hog space at the bar waiting for their Jager bombs ... this is not the place for you. I don't live in St. Joe anymore, but if I did this would no doubt be one of my favorite hangout spots. It's very cozy and inviting, and Brian and Amy are exceptional human beings. Plus, books!
I love going in to The Tiger's Den and talking music with Brian! Everything from Huey Lewis to Cannibal Corpse. That and the Butter Beers are delish!! Great hospitality every time!
A more perfect bar cannot exist. Proof that drinking does make you smarter! Brian is the most excellent host!
Super awesome place with even more amazing owners. Such a unique and original addition to the St. Joe world. I will never not visit this place when I'm in town!!
