When the restaurant get criticism the owner lashes out at customers. Poor taste (pun intended). If people don't know why they should pay a premium price for an upscale concha that's the restaurant's fault, not the customer's.
In May of this year 2017, my friend and I needed an ice coffee and our local place that actually does have the best coffee in Pilsen, jumping bean was closed for Mother's day weekend. We went in for an ice coffee which will set you back almost $5. We felt really insulted by the price and size, it was obvious the business isn't for us, the people who live in Pilsen. Liked it a lot. Beautiful outdoor setting and friendly service at this farm to table local purveyor friendly cafe. Good rich coffee and a tasty but unadorned Bloody Mary- they had run out of celery and I guess don't use celery salt : ( The menu is small but ample choices- I ordered the Classic breakfast with bacon, 2 eggs over easy, wheat toast and potatoes. Everything delicious and the right size on a pretty plate! Well worth the short wait-
Great food and service. It was busy and they still got to us quick enough food was good and hot. Lots of food as well from kids menu.
The oatmeal is amazing. The staff are very friendly. Coffee, local beer, farm to table food on a beautiful patio...what more could you want?
Business response:

Thanks Claudia, greatly appreciate the rating.
An awesome gift to the neighborhood! I'm here regularly for morning work sessions and weekend breakfasts. The owners are local, source nearly everything local, and have really worked to create a beautiful setting. Two thumbs up!
Lived in the neighborhood 8 years ago when they had different owners. So fun to see the transition and new vibe. Such a hidden gem!
Business response:
Kevin, welcome back! Glad you noticed all the hard work we've put into it.
