I booked 2 massages here with a friend visiting from out of town this past spring. I am a local. I have been here numerous times and have had the best experiences, relaxing massage, amazing facials even top notch pedicures; professional welcoming staff. Checkin was okay, I hadn’t been there in a while and was expecting a warmer welcome highlighting the relaxing areas to enjoy before and after massages, amenities and more upbeat excited staff. Janine at the check-in was very rude and gave wrong info about pool closing time because she just wanted to get home. Jacuzzi and spa in women’s locker room need's major restoration and pest control. Make sure you ask who is working on you or they will assign you the less popular reps. Very overpriced! The pool offers food, too, but it is a climb so wear your tennis shoes. Not impressed.
We have visited the spa at Rancho Bernardo Inn several times for couples massages, and our first four experiences were excellent. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was extremely disappointing. My partner and I booked 100-minute massages along with facials, with the facial services performed by two different practitioners before our back-to-back massage treatments, making our total service time approximately three hours. I’ve been honestly debating this review but decided it’s worthy of being known. My girlfriend was celebrating her birthday so we all scheduled services to have a day at the pool. I selected a pedicure for $115, then you have to pay an additional $50 for access to the pool and spa area, and tip on that. So nearly $200! I was expecting something relaxing and divine. Not here. The Spa at Rancho Bernardo Inn is outstanding! I had the Himalayan Salt Stone massage and it was one of the best treatments I’ve ever experienced incredibly relaxing and therapeutic. The spa and pool area feels very private and luxurious, and the outdoor casitas are beautiful and perfect for couples. A truly high-end spa experience from start to finish.
