We heard great things about The Southern so made a reservation a couple of weeks in advance to celebrate our anniversary. We noted on the reservation it was an anniversary meal. We dressed up and made our way through Nashville traffic on a busy Saturday night. We were seated in the bar surrounded by televisions, some of which had the UT/Bama game on. Underwhelmed. Went with friends last night we had heard it was a great place however we were not impressed. My Salmon was not cooked thoroughly in fact it was pretty much rare, thankful the risotto paired with it was tasty enough. Two people at the table had the chicken, which was ok but the mac and cheese was more like cheese sauce poured over pene, the greens had too much vinegar which was the only favor you could taste. Had brunch here for the first time and EVERYTHING was incredible!
I went here around 6 on Saturday night. They said 30 minute wait it was all bout 10 minutes we got seated promptly. I had the aged strip steak medium rare with the potatoes and green beans. I requested no onions in my green beans and they can through! :-) The steak was absolutely amazing. Cooked to a perfect medium rare.
