Had a few good stays in different rooms. Brick wall view and no tv but an excellent writer or hikers retreat! Chinatown next door is culturally unique and waterfront is so nice in bloom. Recommend for those who need space from unnecessary tvs and hotel extra costs or to save a little time money energy. The owners run efficiently. Extremely comfortable beds (firm, supportive mattresses that nonetheless aren’t as stiff as boards). The queen w/shared bath is a tiny room but there’s enough space for a reasonable person’s stuff. The neighborhood is a tiny bit sketchy but really not that bad if you’re used to big cities. Around the corner from an old-fashioned Chinatown restaurant (The Republic) who feature many standard American Chinese dishes & quite a few Sichuan/Szechwan dishes, all well worth the prices as the protein portions are generous & the sauce... read more
This was my first time staying in a hostel and it was really cool! First, the staff was incredible. I was there 3 nights on a weekend, and they were so accommodating, friendly and helpful. Second, unfortunately the AC wasn’t working properly, so it was too hot inside for me personally. Clean bedding was provided and anything else that was needed as well, they helped me make ice packs to cool down with as well which was so much appreciated.
