The Society Hotel is a hotel and hostel in the Old Town neighborhood in Portland. Stayed in the hostel part of the hotel. It is a large mixed dormitory with beds stacked on top of each of other. Hence, you will need to climb stairs if you have a bed on top. For a hostel bed, it is nicer than your typical hostel. There is a place to lock up your things in your space as well as some lockers in the common area. You can also cover your bed for more privacy. My first time at a Hostel style Hotel and will have to say that my two night stay was decent and worth the circumstances in which my visit was a brief one. They have a really cozy lobby area and cafe inside. My barista Jayden was extremely friendly and accommodating. I had a great time chatting with him and I am greatful that I had a chance to encounter him. The staff there are all professional and friendly. Too many homeless outside there
Hung up on twice after being put on hold by the woman at front desk when I called to make a reservation. Second time she picked up another phone call just as she was telling me prices, then put me on hold.
