**Update** Sent to Collections over at 176.00 bill that I wrote a check for but front desk obviously lost and could not cash. My experience living at The Slate was unfortunately marked by serious health and safety concerns and ended with unexpected and unjust financial charges. In May 2024, we discovered a severe maggot infestation at our front door. Maggots were actively crawling into our unit, despite our efforts to bleach and clean for hours. The source was a neighboring unit where trash had been improperly left out and ignored. We moved to Savannah from KY. We originally had chosen a different apartment complex that when we arrived was in a completely different status than when we came and visited and we could not move our babies in there. We came and visited Mallorie on a Saturday 1 hour before the office closed and we were moving in by the following Monday afternoon. For an extended period, the air conditioning system has been completely non-functional, creating an incredibly uncomfortable and, frankly, unbearable living situation. Despite numerous complaints and repeated requests for repairs, management has consistently failed to take any meaningful action. The blatant disregard for basic comfort and health is a clear indicator of neglectful management.
