Shrimp Barn, oh how I love you! I think I wrote my very first review here back in 2011 or 2012. We had stopped here by chance on the way to visit one of our kids who was attending grad school at Western Illinois. Absolutely love the welcoming, casual atmosphere that The Shrimp Barn offers. The owner and staff are always extremely friendly and accommodating. The eclectic decorations and craft beer selection are a couple of my favorite things. They served my wine in a gorgeous glass, that they let me buy and bring home. My son broke it that night and the next day when we went back to buy another, they replaced it for free. They truly appreciate their repeat customers. Definitely give it a try.

We had the Cod. It was awesome. Loved the breading on the cod. Everyone was very friendly.
First time trying the SB and will be the last! Food was terrible! Shrimp was WAY over cooked and my perch was scrawny! Not worth what we paid. I was very disappointed! Got the apple cinnamon fritters and they were still raw inside! Yuck!
Great food, good service, and the owner is very personable/friendly. We really enjoy The Shrimp Barn.
