About this business
Not much made it through the Great San Francisco Earthquake and Fire of 1906, but this bar did. There is a great story behind that. Reportedly, local firemen (loyal customers) diverted water from other locations in order to save this place. Its customer loyalty is just as strong today. Founded in 1861, it has as much history as it does popularity. Come for live blues and all the charm of a tradition that is over a century old.

Lots of history, still a great bar I believe Im correct in saying that The Saloon is the oldest bar in San Francisco... and thats OLD. Well guess what? Its still an awesome bar. It truly is a walk into the past, and some of the regulars sitting slouched in their stools perfect the picture. They occasionally host some of the biggest names in blues too. Awesome.

Best Saloon and Music in San Francisco!
One of the City’s great old bars, a joint, a dive in the finest tradition of a rock and roll blues club/bar/hangout. A place that has some of theBayAreas finest guitarists whaling away on the Fender Telecasters, bass and drums with room to dance and for every Joe Citizen of fog city just to be himself/herself please insert appropriate gender here...
