Neighbors are helpful and friendly. It is a lovely community.
I’ve rented and owned in a number of apartment buildings across NYC and other cities, and this one is one of the most well managed. Great board who manages financials well, a responsive management company, and a friendly cleaning and maintenance staff. The neighbors are all very friendly as well and take care of the common areas of the building. I’ve also never had any pest problems or noise issues. Building residents have a great sense of community and are very helpful. The building board also holds open meetings for everyone to participate. A new management company has replaced Fields and it is responsive.
Definitely a hidden gem in the JC neighborhood. A good mix of urban feels and the serenity of a homey community. Neighbors are very friendly and greeted/helped us from day one. At first we were worried about the noise on the pedestrian plaza but turns out they must have some special glasses to keep noises at bay. The location is very clever you can almost get to any popular spots in JC within walking distance, and if you’re a biker the citi bike station just outside the building is always full and ready.
