The location was close to a lot of eateries and felt very safe. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. The staff upon check in was great, and told me that my entire balance was paid, to which I questioned the resort fees of about $200 which I thought I had to pay. He assured me everything was fine and I was only being charged a nightly refundable deposit. Where it all falls apart... if you stay here, double check your bank statement. I had to update my review. I really like the hotel. It was comfortable and would have stayed again, then I checked my credit card statement. I prepaid $475.81 at time of booking and was expected to pay an additional $202.90 for resort fees at check in. When we checked in they said it was paid in full and no amount was due, but they would hold a deposit of $500. All sounded good. Then we checked out and we were charged $587.91. We called the front desk, he was kind, but said that we were charged for taxes and "hotel packages"... read more

This was my fourth at The Royal Sonesta Hotel. At each and every visit, the service and care provided by the staff was wonderful. Rooms are clean and spacious. Staff is kind, courteous, and helpful.

Stayed here for Otakon in August. The location is very convenient for hopping on the metro to the convention center for a much better price than staying close to the convention center. Quiet location. Concise and considerate staff. Enough towels and toiletries are already in the room for a 3-4 day trip so you don't have to ask for more. Plenty of affordable food options walkable and via metro. Our flight was delayed so I really appreciate the 11am-12pm courtesy checkout.
