The Root Beer Stand has been a close-knit family operation from day one and remains so today. As a matter of fact, both of our main cooks met the men they married while working at The Stand. I try to support the enjoyment of Root Beer. Ohio has some very good root beer. Thank you. I help serve root beer in San Juan Bautista, California, at our history park. This is the saloon from the movie Vertigo.
Used to go as a kid in the early 70's when it was A&W. First time in a long time, but I will return soon.
Every time we come back we stop to eat at least once. Then we take home root beer. My wife had a surgery and cannot have carbonated beverages. The home brewed root beer is right for her. It is nostalgia but it is still awesome! Highly recommend to anyone wanting a real older type of dining experience!
My boys LOVE it...food is okay. Service is fast and friendly. Don’t forget the cash only policy.

An institution. It was originally managed by my grade school gym teacher, Mr. Ridenaur. My friends and I would ride our bikes to the Riot Beer Stand for a riot bear and a hot dog. LOVED THEM HOTDOGS! It will always be a favorite place to me that holds years of wonderful memories!!
