Great place to stay. Wonderful view from the balcony
RecommendedExcellent location near everything in the Black Hills and just down the road from Mt. Rushmore. The staff is friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable about the region. Rooms are nice and very clean. Parking is OK. Breakfast is similar to other economy class hotels, mostly wheat products, cereal and biscuits and gravy. We have stayed here three times and the owners now treat us like family and recognise us and know or names. We have stayed at other motels on our many trips to the Black Hills and this is our favorite.
The Roosevelt Inn is very much like they describe themselves. A locally owned, small business putting forth an affordable product. Your stay in Keystone is not about 5 star accommodations, a concierge, and 24 hour room service. You need a clean place to sleep and friendly service, before or after seeing the monuments. A/c did not work right and when we the owners know i had my head cut off by the lady owner. Not at all happy. The place needs a major renovation and more workers on hand.
Very disappointed. Biggest turn-off was opening the bed to go to sleep only to find stained bedsheets - gross! Also, we needed to leave early the next morning & found out that the elevator apparently doesn't operate if the lobby isn't open. Had to carry very heavy luggage down 4 flights of stairs.....unreal!
