Went there for anniversary dinner and was disappointed because for the price I was expecting 5 start service and food. The food was decent but the entrees were really overpriced and the sides were miniscule. We asked for sommelier and instead got the recommendation through the waitress. Our plates lagged to be cleared. Beautiful setting but chairs were uncomfortable outside. Would go again another time to see if it was a fluke.
The setting was nice, but the food was overpriced for what it was. Also, the chef is obsessed with cilantro, so if you are one of the 20%, you won't have anything to choose from.
The restaurant isnt serving lunch during the week anymore so drove from San Jose and found myself pretty disappointed. Was looking forward to the chilled melon soup and halibut but we ended up at their smaller grill restaurant adjacent to the pro shop. Same excellent quality and chef touches (honey cilantro sauce on my pepper jack burger) but casual menu featuring burgers, sandwiches, etc. We left happy and for about 1/3 the price. So now I have 2 favorite restaurants there.
We compliment the chef on the excellent halibut! Our meal from salad with raspberry dressing to lemon tart and chocolate pavlova was a wonderful experience. Kevin, our server, was so helpful and his service just added to our special meal. Thank you.

I had my husband's 40th birthday party here and it was as wonderful! From the planning with Georgine to the staff that helped on the day of the party to the food! Thank you Wente!!
I grew up in Livermore and Wente Bros.Winery is a staple in the community and a when you go you have to a glass of Brut.
