Renditions of Cat Stevens, the Rolling Stones, Billy Joel and Beatles fill the air as you set foot into this place. Known for music and spirits, Redhead is the place to reminisce over a bottle of Chandon Brut. Liquors, cocktails and classic wines feature in the drinks menu. The cigar rack is also promising. The piano area is busy with artistes and sing-along buddies requesting their favorite number. The attire is strictly business casual.

Over-rated – Short and simple... Over crouded with minimal seating. Poor lighting. Restroom was in poor condition. Long line just to get in. On the good hand for as busy as it was I was impressed on how quickly the bartneder serviced his customers. I wouldn't suggest stopping by on a friday/saturday night. It was just too packed, smokey and noisy to be enjoyable.
Horrible! – Drinks are good, but that's not worth the hassle. MANDATORY coat check, boo. The door "lady" refused to let in our friend who was wearing boots. UM, it's Chicago in the winter, HELLO! Although she had already let in our other friend with the same exact shoes. She then proceeded to refuse to let in a woman who had just had foot surgery and had to wear tennis shoes. The guy on the piano wasn't very good either. I understand dress codes and all, but this way a little too extreme. I have suspicions that this place is... read more
NICKBREESE – I WAS ON VACATION FROM SAN DIEGO AND DECIDED TO GO HEAR LIVE MUSIC. THE DOOR MAN ACTED LIKE THIS WAS THE TRENDY LA CLUB.(WITH HIS ATTITUDE)AND I HAD TO CHECK MY COAT. THE MUSIC SUCKED, THE DRINKS WERE WEAK.THE BEST THING ABOUT THE PLACE WAS IT WAS NEAR OTHER SPOTS TO GO .SO WE DID. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO MY WORST ENEMY!!!
Annoying Redhead – After reading the reviews on this site, I decided to give this piano bar a try. I went in open-minded and was blind-sided by their shortcomings. The "dress code" is no sneakers and shirts tucked in. Well, I was out of code by having a stylish button down shirt un-tucked. I tucked it in, but heightened my awareness to the others around me. Needless to say, I was dressed nicer than two-thirds of the clientele, some of which were wearing sweatshirts and sporting mullets. The crowd was mostly tourists on a lat... read more
It used to be cool – Typically crowded, so get there a few minutes early and hold onto your table, then enjoy the fun music. The crowd seems much older these days, and 'snootier'.
From Pro_Partier – I love this place, I've been to bars and clubs throughout the world and this is among one of the more professional bars . If you have the maturity level of a 3 year old don't come here but if you enjoy a good, well run club for all it's nuances this place has it all, A pro door staff, pro (also cute) waitstaff, and BARTENDERS, not bartenders but BARTENDERS! If you go here just take a second to watch the BARTENDERS work, it's like a well choreographed ballet. After that you"ll appreciate this place for what... read more
The worst ever! – I'm from Chicago and always passed by this place. I always wanted to go in, what a big mistake. It's mandatory to check your coat in. The service was horrible and the crowd was nothing to talk about. Unless you come from a small town who has never experienced a big town before this might be your kind of place but for active city goer's take a pass and go somewhere else.
A low key, relatively inexpensive night – My husband and I arrived early about 7:30 and had no problem getting a seat. There is no drink minimum and no cover, but coat check ($2) is required. Our drinks ranged from ($6--vodka collins) to $10 (Grey Goose martini). Generally, they were generous and tasty. The service was good, quick refills and frequent ashtray emptying (probably because we got a table). The music was fine, though mello and there wasn't much happening in the crowd. The place seemed a little pretentious, but it... read more
Don't Waste Your Time – In a city known for great and friendly customer service, the service here is the absolute worst! The doorman acts like this place is in Miami's South Beach. They are understaffed and the ones they have are useless. Forget it. There are many great spots in Chicago for great music. This place is a serious waste of your time.
