Everytime I am visiting DC I try to take a half day off to visit this little pearl of a restaurant. It is worth the drive👍 Very laid back and cosy - and the staff is brilliant! The food is fantastic!
Tom is a very gifted chef and the place has a welcoming ambiance. The menu choices are alway fresh, creative, and good portions. A worthwhile destination!
we are local and love the Rail Stop. Food is excellent and atmosphere is great also. Petite NY Strip with house made bernaise and house cut fries is my go to. The Duck Roll is to die for Yummy!!

My son flew in and took my husband and me to the Rail Stop for lunch, dinner and brunch at the Rail Stop in Plains, Va. for my birthday. I was so surprised for I had been there before. It was indeed a treat for all. The food was beautifully presented and so much love, thought and care was put into the food and presentation. Everything was delicious. Perfect place for date night, although I was by myself. Bruce and the staff were awesome. They took the time to talk with me about The Plains and simply helped me as I was missing my family!!! The food was great and they were some of the most genuine hosts I have ever experienced.
