Scheduled an appointment 3 months ago that was set to be TOMORROW! At 5pm I received a phone call stating the doctor had gone back to California and my appointment needed to be canceled ! Was told I could see a male physician instead BUT I would be penciled in a there is no knowing how long I’d be waiting to be seen. My first experience with Queens Health Systems was quite disappointing to say the least. I made an appointment two and a half months in advance. It was the soonest they had, but I didn’t mind because I’d been researching for a while to find the doctor that I felt would be a right fit for my needs and I really wanted to see the doctor I chose. I have lots of respect for my PCP Dr. Stephen Miyasato, very informative, explains in very detail to me about my health, medications, etc. With my insurance, Humana Gold, my co-pay for primary care physician (PCP) is $10 and $30 for a specialist. I was told by Queens Billing Department that Dr. Stephen Miyasato is an internist so I need to pay as a specialist. Humana pays as Queens’ decision.
