Wonderful place for dinner with friends – I can only say nice things about The Place, what a fabulous place. Amazing staff, great food, good wine list, candlelit and cozy interiors. Rocking whatever the season. Cant wait to go back!
What Poor Management!!! – Tragic end to a lovely dinner. A bunch of us went out for a friend's birthday, and when the bill came the server was unable to tell us how he arrived at his $1200 total. When we consented, handing over cash and credit cards, the server returned to tell us we were still short. 1/3 of the cash went missing in the 10 ft trip to the register! When we approached the owner, he was nothing but rude, arrogant and abbrassive. The staff is treacherous so beware!
A perfect evening – One of the best meals and service we've had in a long time! The food was phenomenal, service was wonderful and a very cozy atmosphere. All in all a fabulous evening. This was our 1st experience at The Place and we're already making plans to go back.
very romantic – I went on a date for my birthday to "The Place" and the bartender Meagan was very nice...we were seated promptly, I order the scallops por app and duck for dinner it was great, it was soft and juicy I really loved the food, service and ambiance. I really recommend this place for the perfect date.
Very romantic, Great service – My boyfriend and I went to The Place on a snowy night (last Monday) and the service was great. We were promptly seated and Greg, or Craig provided excellent service. My Bf ordered the steak and he loved it. I had the salmon which was perfectly seasoned. What I liked the most was the fireplace, the ambiance, the wine...overall it's a great place to dine with a significant other
Romantic, food not so amazing – The scene and mood is pretty date-friendly, certainly dim and romantic. They have a decent selection of wines and the menu is pretty broad. We got some "tapas-stlyes" apps to share and were not very impressed. The entrees were just average. Go for drinks, before or after dinner, but find on of the other local spots to enjoy something worthwhile!
Maybe worth a visit, but NEVER on Valentine's day – I should have realized that everyone has a different definition of "romantic" when I booked this place for Valentine's day dinner. As soon as we stepped in, we couldn't believe our ears/eyes. It was the over-the-top cheesy valentine's day decor that overwhelmed us at first. And then we had to put up with all these cheesy 80's love songs literally blasting all throughout the dinner. Are you Kidding??? – We went there on Valentine's last year and it was the tackiest decorated restaurant in New York! Heart balloons all over the place, red confetti strewn around....it was not romantic. It was hilarious. Kind of like a joke. Surprisingly, the food was good. Bottom line, foods good but ambience is def in the negative.
love it – it was recommanded to me as the place for romance , you bet it was ,i had the most wonderful time with my date ,amazing food , our server was most attemptive and yet descret. We ll be back for sure
