We didn't even get a chance to try this place. After sitting around for 15 minutes without even someone coming by to take our drink orders, we left. I wanted to cause a scene but no one was even around to notice we left. This was on a Sunday night too so they weren't even busy. Too bad bc we're pretty loyal durhamites and tend to stick to places we really like. Geer st garden down the street is one of our faves and got our business that night. I would not recommend The Pit in any way. Good job running a business guys.
My Husband and I went to The Pit Sunday. They have free valet parking, which I thought was great. One of the managers was at the door welcoming us. The place was very clean and very well laid out. I am not a drinker , but they have a very nice looking bar. Our server was very charming. We got the brisket. Oh my goodness. So very good. It is nice to finally have a BBQ place open not only on Sunday, but every day. I work at the Brookwood Inn. Several guest told me how good the food is. I involuntarily said "wow" a few times over the course of my meal
When we walked in the door, the two ladies behind the counter looked at my family like we had three heads! I assumed they were dasdy's girls or related to the owner. They were not warm or inviting! I should've went with my gut instinct and walked away. Service was poor at best. Three waiters and only the bartender had any personality. We will not be back...just a really bad experience.
