I think everyone should get an extensive background check before being hired. It is apparent to me that this is not the case at The Pines. Douglas Fox, the current maintenance man, was fired from White Lakes Plaza apartments AND from Oakbrook apartments for failing drug tests. Both terminations were in the last 15 months. His truck is full of empty beer cans and he often times reeks of dope and beer. This led me to do an investigation on my own and I found these facts. Just a bunch of con artists. We put in our application and their property manager was on vacation and I put down a deposit and an application fee as well. I did some paperwork and they kept pushing me to sign here, sign there, and not giving me a chance to read the application. A week later they got back to me and told me they where going to need two cosigners (for my g/f and I) because I had poor credit, and she had bad rental history (not true.) We started looking into other apartments and found one we liked. We went back ... read more

I have lived at the Pines for over 2 years. It is a very safe and secure apartment complex. My apartment is very nice, warm and comfortable. The staff at The Pines are awesome, hard working people. I would recommend the Pines for a person looking for privacy. Shorter commutes with the location being right off of I-70.
