Dr. Foley and his team were exceptional. When my cat required perineal urethrostomy (PU) surgery, the emergency vet recommended taking him here for surgery at a lower cost than what they could offer. Dr. Foley made space in his busy schedule to fit my cat in for surgery the day i called and was professional throughout the whole experience. The staff at the pet mechanic fishtown were all wonderful and treated my puppy with such good care. They ensured the vet would remain a positive experience for her for years to come. As well as made the experience stress free for myself by making everything as convenient as possible.
We are so happy with our care at Pet Mechanic. We have never had an issue getting an appointment and are always seen precisely on time. We also never met a technician that wasn’t the happiest and friendliest person. We have seen both Dr Foley and Dr Harris and don’t have a preference since they have both provided exceptional care to our Goose. We have been there a little more than we would like but Goose has been more than thrilled to walk in each time.
To start, the receptionists and vet techs are wonderful and that’s why I’m leaving even two stars. The vets on the other hand are unhelpful and I do not recommend taking your pet here. When I took my puppy in for uncontrollable diarrhea the vet was more concerned with listing out the slew of available treatment options from bloodwork to ex rays though none of her history indicated anything other than a fecal would be necessary to start. Took my cat to a different vet this week and they were hesitant to do her X-ray because of notes on chart saying she had to be “muzzled, aggressive and bit without warning.” I was completely unaware of that. My cat is not aggressive, she was scared. She was very good with the vet I took her to and they decided to go on with the X-ray despite what the Pet Mechanic said about her.
