The site is misleading. They said they do online renewals. They aren’t even the ones affiliated with processing. I got no confirmation email, info on next steps or status updates. After a month and a half, I contacted them. Nothing was done and I wasted all that time waiting for nothing. They refunded me except for a “non refundable” $10 which I repeatedly asked for. They did nothing for me and I don’t feel like they should keep it. It honestly feels like fraud. Now I have to pay extra and expedite my passport.
Very misleading company. They make it seem as though you are applying for your passport online. Total fraud. Just a way to get all of your personal information.
I have been waiting almost 6 months for my passport. I have called no information I issued complaints on the wb site and still nothing. I spoke to a person once who said it take a year to get a passport and I explained to him I have never in my life heard of such. I got an email and letter requesting more information and promptly sent everything I had and still nothing. And from what I've read it is perfectly legal for them to take your money and send you nothing.
I would give customer service zero stars if I could. I have called their agency exactly 5 times on 5 separate occasions. Being hung up on by **** today, after holding for an hour and a half was the last straw. The hold times are absolutely ridiculous. The first time I called I held for 2 hours, again for 3 hours, again for 5 hours and 3 1/2 hours. Representatives are rude in their tone, they sound annoyed by you asking questions. I applied for a passport renewal for my children on February 2, 2021. We are traveling on March 6, 2021. I requested expedited service on the passports. Since it was mailed, I have been checking the status of the application. On February 10, it is in process. Until now, March 3, it is still in process. I paid $130 for their expedited service and another $50 to expedite the fed ex to them. Followed all the instructions given to me by their representative Elias only to receive my entire package with documents back 2 weeks later!! Not a single notice or letter call or email explaining to me what was wrong with my documents. I have now emailed them 3 times and left 4 voice-mails since no one answers the phone. I had no idea my passport expired, until I was at the airport. Then I looked at my kids passport, expired like a year ago. These guys save my day! Everything was in my hands the very next day. That would have been a disaster if we did not have them to help us get the documents we needed. We had everything at our house. And nothing with us. Who carries those things with them?
I did not have a good experience with ThePassportOffice / VisaServiceDepartment’s Houston "office." I paid for rush service for China visa, which this company’s website indicates that it could take up to 5 to 6 days. The Houston Chinese Embassy site indicates that it takes 3-4 days for rush service. Wow, this company could not be better!!! If it weren't for them, I would have missed out on the trip of a lifetime. I booked a trip to Costa Rica several months ago and with just days to go, I realized my passport was expired :(. So I went looking for a company that could get me my passport FAST.
