My husband and I went to Oceanaire Seafood Room to celebrate out 4th year wedding anniversary. They went the extra mile to make sure we felt special on our day. Our menus were personalized with Happy 4th Anniversary Marlene and Ben. We had a card signed by the staff congratulating us. The food was very good. Fabulous meal. (Ignore the naysayers) Mango Jalapeño bacon chutney with seared scallops was a culinary explosion of flavor in each bite. 10 oz filet & scallops was spot on! We'll be back.
Have had great experiences in the past. Two weeks ago we were served bad oysters. Like really bad!!! Write home and cry to your mother bad. They didn't bother to take from the check until I complained. Oysters so bad the smell was horrible. Fortunately we spit before swallowing the rotten ones... still feel physically ill from the experience. Bad experience, the hostess was rude and refused to seat us ten minutes before our reservation even though half the tables were open, stating "we can't seat you early when there are other people ahead of you". We saw no-one waiting or coming in. It was restaurant week and we were advised to try the specials; the chicken fried lobster was terrible, mostly over-cook breading and if there was lobster in there I never found it. Woww, food was VERY good! The baked Alaskan dessert was Greatttt. Pomegranate Martini was tasty, just enough sweetness. I can't complain at all! I had a great Birthday dinner and they incorporated my name on their menu (for my table). It said Happy Birthday...then my name. Perfect! I'm sold! 1st time there but it will definitely not be the last. Actually planning to go back this weekend�
The food was very good but I felt that the portions were very small. One hour after leaving the restaurant, I was still hungry. In my opinion, the restaurant needs to increase the portion sizes to match their prices.
