Proudly named after a historic figure from the island's historic revolutionary war, The Obstinate Daughter presents diners with a carefully crafted menu that draws inspiration from the age-old culinary traditions of Southern cuisine. The nautical-themed decor is simplistic yet endearing, bringing together the raw charm of reclaimed wood and a wide range of contemporary elements. The Seafood Fra Diavolo, Frogmore Chowder, Griddled Octopus, and the Seared Red Snapper comprise the specialties.

Had a wonderful experience there and Wendi the bartender was great. All around great dining experience.
You will not be disappointed here. The Mepkin Abbey mushroom app was delicious. Short ribs were great too. Only problem was we wanted more.
Middle Street restaurants on Sullivans Island are all top notch. But the OD stands out in our mind when you want a creative menu and great service. We had Lowcountry Shrimp Roll - Geechie frites and then the Old Danger pizza with pancetta, mozzarella, white sauce, farm egg, scallion. A COAST double IPA was a great pairing. We'd go back again in a heartbeat.
Best place on Sullivan's to eat. Staff is well trained, the menu varies but is consistently good and the quality of food is high, and the restaurant is gorgeous.
Great food!!! Catherine was our wait staff and she was patient, funny and very knowledgeable. Love the frites and the bourbon pecan cream brûlée was decadent. It was a bit noisy, but otherwise a do not miss!!
Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's a really pretty restaurant with the weathered boards on the walls and ceilings. My wife loves the color scheme. But the food!!! Everything was SO CRAZY GOOD! From the first bite of the first appetizer, I knew it was going to be a great night. Roasted beets with home made ricotta, spicy calamari, and how do you make a bean dip taste THAT good?! Sweetbreads--my, my, my. Creme brûlée. Nuf said.
What's not to like? Love the attention to detail. Make sure you try the chocolate sorbet!
We are visiting from out of town. We typically do a lot of research before trying new restaurants, but just haven't had the time this trip. We have two young daughters so I made it a point to call the restaurant early on this evening to check their position on having kids. The person answering said YES that it is kid friendly, and they usually will make a pizza to the child's taste (though not having an official kids menu). This is not out of the ordinary for some restaurants so I figured what the hey, we will check it out. ... read more
Absolutely the best pasta I have ever had! Decor was gorgeous, service was fantastic. I had the pasta carbonara and it was outrageously delicious!
