Did not establish an emotional connection with my son. During appointments she sat at her desk across the room, typing on her computer. It felt very impersonal.. You have to be very exact with your minutes or she will inform you that you are going over the 20 min mark! We left the practice partly because of the seeming lack of empathy/connection one wants from their doctor, and lack of ideas of alternative meds.
By far the best psychiatrist I've met with. She is helpful and understanding and will work with you to find solutions that make sense. Offers two lengths of appointment times of 20 minutes or 50 minutes, which is really helpful. If I could give more stars I would.
Dr. Nixon is incredibly kind and understanding. She is incredibly knowledgeable and takes her time with everyone. Joan at the desk is also super sweet and kind. Absolutely wonderful place to go if you need a psych.
