HORRIBLE people skills among staff. Friends and I were threatened multiple times that we were going to get kicked out because of "noise complaints". At one point, they even called the cops. I suggest to not stay at the Nines if you intend on having a good time with your friends. If you do choose to stay there bring duct tape to cover your mouth so you wont get threatened to be kicked for noise complaints. ALSO, don't use the ipod dock provided in the room, another reason for them to kick you out for noise complaints.

We stayed one night at the Nines off of a sharing spree. It was such a GREAT deal and fun treat to be downtown. The food was phenomenal - we were not expecting the quantity and quality of food on the concierge level - which came with the sharing spree. It was so god. The rooms are small but all you need and very clean!!

Great if You Are a Starwood Member Anyway! – I've stayed at the Nines and have rented rooms there for my SO's parents (wheelchair access needed). Both of our experiences have been wonderful. Before moving to Portland, I stayed in numerous hotels in the downtown area. All were wonderful and had their own quirks. Realizing that only so much can be done with the renovation of an existing building, I was very impressed with the Nines. While the rooms we stayed in on all occasions were not very large, they were well laid out and ... read more

My husband and I spent our 1 year anniversary here and thought this hotel was wonderful. The atmosphere is really high end, which is perfect for a "staycation." We were thrilled to see that Sharing Spree was offering rooms for half off, and booked right away. We look forward to having access to the club lounge where drinks and food are included, and we know from experience that they have a good selection there! The Sharing Spree also includes parking, which is awesome because otherwise it's pretty spendy.

Fun place for a weekend downtown – We love to go downtown for a weekend and this is a great place to stay. Can't beat the location, being so close to MAX. The rooms are great and the staff is friendly. I just love the decor - upscale modern the whole way. The rooms are exceptionally well equipped for a variety of needs. We've done the weekend routine twice and this is our place!

Very cool hotel – Had a girls weekend here, and we loved it. All the staff was great with except a female barteneder in the Departure Lounge Friday night 1/29th. Everyone else was fabulous. We ate in both restaurants, used the concierge etc. Right on max line, right by Nordys, Starbucks, a few blocks from two movie theaters. We just didn't sleep good because of the mattresses! Ouch. We would both go back.

Beautifully decorated. Fantastic price on the room. Only drawback is the hyper vigilant door security. I forgot my room key and had to talk my way back upstairs by the guy monitoring the door.

Not a Five Star by Any Stretch – Horrible, spotty service. My room, which was supposed to be feather-free (called ahead to make sure this was noted), came complete with a down comforter & down pillows. I understand this happens - not a big deal - so I call the front desk and ask to have it changed out. The front desk clerk says "Can't you just take it off the bed?" I said "Yes, I am capable of taking it off the bed, but I would still need a blanket and some pillows." "Oh, okay" Housekeeping arrived about 30 minutes later (12... read more
