The Mystery Spot

4.5

About this business

For almost 60 years, this attraction has been puzzling its visitors with its bizarre phenomena. Apparently, there are unusual deviations in gravity, mysterious inflections of light and altering perceptions of velocity and space. The staff takes you on a tour of the property, and you can witness all sorts of mysterious phenomena. It is a great place for the kids (and the adults who love them). This attraction is open every day of the year.

As name suggests.. We have taken so many guests to visit here. Each time, they come out, shaking their head in disbelief. Its different, to say a least. Good for 1-2 visits. Thereafter usually sit out.

I got dizzy in there I'm not sure what it is, a naturally occuring gravity center, a gigantic magnet under the house, or a great ploy, but the Mystery Spot affected me physically. It's this house-cabin on the outskirts of Santa Cruz that will pull you down, and make you feel like you've lost your balance. There is no explanation for it, you just slide to the side and feel this big pull on your body. Fun for kids.

Great place to visit This is one of the most unbelievable places you'll ever go to. You can't even explain it. It's in the middle of the redwoods (and not easy to find). Once your tour begins you go in a shed like structure where you can stand on the edge of a table and almost 'float in the air'. You feel like your drunk or walking up a very steep hill, even though you're on level ground. Freaky but a lot of fun.

cool place Lots of cool things to see here. Some of the things you will see here seem outright impossible. Make sure you bring your camera for this one. It's a nice, fun place to visit.

weird and cool at the same time!! The Mystery Spot is an area about 150 feet in diameter located in the redwood forests just outside of Santa Cruz, California. Within the Mystery Spot you will be baffled as the laws of physics and gravity cease to exist thier hours are Summer: 9:00 AM to last tour @7:00 PM (Starting May 29th, 2004) Winter: 9:00AM to last tour @ 5:00PM (After Labor Day up to Memorial Day) PROS: CONS: you might get bored after awhile and it is a little ways drive.

What a scam Someone builds a crooked house on a crooked hill and suddenly this spot defies the laws of physics? I don't think so. Six Flags over Texas had a similar show years ago in Arlington, TX.

SCAM, PLEASE READ First, I want to confirm that there are no “puzzling variations of gravity, perspective, and height” as the Mystery Spot (MS) claims. All of the constructions at MS were built for one purpose: illusion. The tilted cabin and fence were built in the background to heighten the illusory effects. The slanted road leading up to the hill and tilted cabin floor add to this effect by making it difficult for visitors to move about the area. When I came to MS about 15 years ago, I sensed something fishy, but at th... read more
