This is a fantastic hidden gem in the middle of the city. I lived in Knox County for most of my life, always thought this place was super fancy and out of reach. Moved to Northern Ohio years ago and on a trip to visit family for the holidays, my wife found this place for our overnight stay. What a find! I had the opportunity to enjoy a one-night stay at the absolutely lovely Mount Vernon Inn last week while visiting my kids at college. From the moment I arrived, the property and people were welcoming and wonderful. The owners made me feel like an old friend, and breakfast in the pretty and sunny dining room was delicious. I had a perfect omelet and toasted English muffin, and I made three tips to the fruit platter to enjoy more fresh berries and pineapple. Friendly staff, nice rooms and a great little sitting area outside the room with a view of the pretty garden. Homemade breakfast every morning to top it off. I would/will certainly stay there again.
The rooms are clean, comfortable and full of amenities. The breakfast is delicious and varied. The gardens are beautiful and inviting. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Great place to stay
The Mount Vernon Inn has wonderful charm, not only in the rooms and gardens, but also the staff is just lovely. it's a short walk to an eclectic downtown Mount Vernon where you can find shopping, restaurants and if you come on a Saturday morning April-October the farmers market on the square offers locally grown produce as well as other handmade goods. Stay a night or a week. You won't be disappointed!
