I have been an Interior Designer since the early 1980's. In this economy, I am amazed at how fabulous the "finds" are at BOTH locations of The Missing Piece, Clearwater and Tampa. Wonderful way to have the highest quality, in many cases, to decorate on a budget!!! I search their website daily and I have many girlfriends doing the same!!! I have bought and sold many pieces of furniture at The Missing Piece. I type this as I am sitting on a fabulous bed purchased from the Britton Plaza location. Today (Sat 01/19/13), at the Britton Plaza store, I was treated so poorly. Upon entering the store, I was greeted with ¿Can I help you we close in 14 minutes¿. After 45 seconds, another sales person bellowed: ¿CAN I HELP YOU!¿ in a tone that sounded like: ¿Can I help you ¿ please leave quickly¿. Years ago, the Missing Piece had great selection at very reasonable prices - and a nice shopping experience than others in Tampa. Selection is still good, but the prices have gotten out of hand. If I'm buying used furniture, I'm looking for more than a fifth off retail. For the extra $100 I'd rather be protected by a warranty and return policy.
Upon attempting to arrange pickup of my items I was greeted with snobbery. When referred to another member of staff I was again confronted with snobbery and spoken to in a demeaning way. I had to refrain from argument with the scheduler concerning a misquoted price. I later cancelled the pickup and decided not to consign my furniture with The Missing Piece. We bought a dresser at the Tampa store. All went very well. The two guys who delivered it were the best we ever had. We will buy there again. Thanks to the people at Missing Piece.
Always something new and exciting overtime I visit the store or their website. It is a great way to furnish a new home or change out some key pieces to make your place seem new!
This is for the Clearwater Store-Becky was so wonderful & helpful over the phone and when I went, the staff was fabulous. The manager & I are from the same hometown up North--we just had a ball chatting & shopping. I walked out after buying a huge wall unit and consigning my old entertainment center. Everything-from first phone call to delivery was seamless & professional. Love Love this store.
