Great Hotel Very elegant hotel, and Shula's is a very classy restaurant.
Service beyond the norm Thank you, Employees of Hampton Inn, Durango, for your excellent service! I inadvertently left several items of clothing during our stay there. I called to report the loss; the clothing was located and employees very kindly mailed the package to my home as a service. Makes us want to join Hampton Inn's reward program! Thanks again.
Some of the staff tried but... This hotel is poor. The meeting rooms are totally outdated. The parking garage is a disaster. There were workers powerwashing the garage and they screamed and cussed at me for being in their way. I would not stay here again. My company will not have another meeting here. The staff in the bar and restaurant provided great service and were very prompt but the poor venialation, lack of air conditioning and very poor parking conditions make this a sub-par hotel. Not a good place for families with small children We stayed for 4 nights in a very small room with 2 beds. Hardly enough room to walk around let alone the pack and play being set up.There was no fridge or microwave unless we wanted to spend MUCH more for a different room. Not even a microwave in the so called lobby.Parking was a block away and so you can imagine the headache that was.Being downtown in Rapid City isn't convenient at all.We will never stay downtown Rapid City again and never again in the Alex Johnson Hotel.
