Cheese bread "had to be remade" so it came out with our food. No explanation to why it had to be remade (not at our request). Food was nothing stellar Not bad tasting, but not good either. Husband and I both got food poisoning on the way home (we only live 20 minutes away) and have spent the night on the toilet. Thank God my 4 year old and 8 month old baby didn't eat their food.
Visited 11/19 at approximately 7 PM. Arrived to standing room only wait and was told 20 minutes. We entertained the kids for the 40 minute wait and watch as table after table cleared. Upon finally being led to a table a fellow patron said “finally,” as we passed. We ordered simple drinks and dinner - 2 kids spaghetti, a lunch spaghetti, and an order of wings. Hi Brandy. Im so sorry this was your experience. We have worked really hard to make it a great place. We obviously out grew the old spot. Normally our chicken wings are a hit so this is very surprising to hear. I know the waitress you speak of let us know that she asked what she could do and even had the kitchen cook more wings, but you declined. Having been a customer at Mad Italian since the 80s, I have to admit, everything is different since they moved. Incredibly disappointing. The onions were nearly raw in the chicken cheesesteak and the cheese unmelted, the chicken in the fettuccine Alfredo felt like a pre-prepared chicken with filler in it. To make matters worse, the previously comfortable furniture was replaced with the cliche, overused and horribly uncomfortable hipster metal chairs. Lastly, the parking is a nightmare. Very sorry to hear of your disappointment Brianna. It IS different .. but it is supposed to be a good different. Not bad. We doubled our parking. Short of building a parking deck, Im not sure what else we can do about it. Im sorry your food wasnt up to par. Were you able to speak with someone and get it fixed? It is the same staff, owners and managers. Just a different space for us all to get use to. We still strive for the best quality. Hope you will reconsider your decision. Thanks!

We had the worst service tonight! We arrived at the restaurant at 5:20, were seated about 5:50 and got up to leave at 7 because we were still waiting on our food! I know the food there is delicious, but only if they actually serve it to you. We had this same terrible service the last tome we were at the old location and we’re hopeful to try the new “larger” location. Needless to say, I think we’re done with The Mad Italian.

Im very sorry to hear. This is not what we want for this beautiful new location. We are definitely striving to get our kinks out as soon as possible and become the efficent place we were meant to be! Growing pains can be hard! We hope you reconsider in the future!
Always great food. I drive from Smyrna to meet friends from Gainesville. Staff is always on point. Love it.
Went to the new location today. The atmosphere is not like the family restaurant as before. Not warm and friendly. Wait staff was hardly tip worthy. We went at 11:30 am to avoid crowd. Service was still very slow. We had to ask for refills and then refill was not correct. So disappointed 😢

This new restaurant is supposed to be warm and inviting. (And many ppl by ave told us it is more family feeling than the last) It has not quite been 2 weeks yet. It is all new to all of us. Please allow us some time to work out our kinks. Thanks!
