I Love the Loved Dog – I have taken both of my dogs here before on several different occasions and had wonderful experiences. I have found the staff not only friendly but helpful and very "hands on" with the dogs. I would recommend the Loved Dog to anyone who needs a good spot for their pup whether it's just for a couple of hours or a couple of days.
the unloved dog – i decided to give the loved dog a try at the suggestion of a friend who used to bring her dog there but i have to say that i was not at all impressed. i looked through the filthy window that they have in their "lobby" and saw two of the workers playing with the dogs but apparently oblivious to the large puddle of urine that was left on the floor. i was told that i could not see the upstairs for "insurance reasons" by an incredibly rude overweight brunette whose name escapes me. when i picked my dog up later... read more
A Happy Dog!! – I have been taking my dog to The Loved Dog for over 5 years, and she absolutely LOVES it here! She was a bit tentative at first, I think because she had been a shelter dog, and she was leery of new surroundings. YIKES! My how things change. – I used to bring my dog here all the time but things have really gone down hill. All the staff my dog used to know and love are gone and now there is a new manager who knows nothing about dogs and some crummy customer service at the front desk. There used to be sofas for the dogs to lay on, now the place is just a sea of cement. Gross – My friend used to work there. I didn't want to hurt her feelings but the place is pretty gross. I only left my dog there because of her. I knew she and her co workers would take good care of my boy. FYI she and about 6 or 7 staff members QUIT at the same time because of the conditions of the place. The staff was not "changed" due to sudden "realizations." Give me a break! Hopefully they have changed and you can feel confident leaving your dog here. Otherwise, I'd steer clear.
Best Love for your Dog – I love The Loved Dog and so does my dog! My dog can play hard with the active pack on the main floor or he nap and chill with the mellow pack upstairs. The staff is friendly. The hours are super flexible and the rates are totally reasonable. I also love that the owner is a credible behaviorist, trainer, dog owner and author who believes in Non-Aggressive training. Dogs get sick here, smells and staff is unfriendly – After reading Tamar's book, I was so excited to take my dog here and was fairly surprised and how sub-par it turned out to be. The staff were less than friendly and when I picked up my dog he smelled like a toilet bowl. Although my dog never got sick, a good friend of mine took her dog there at the same time and stopped b/c he came home with gerardia. Problems seem to have been worked out – I used this facility last week, and it was wonderful. Very clean with great staff, and my dog loved it, I did ask about the reports I read here, and apparently, they were aware of the problems and totally changed their staff a couple of months ago.
Shameful – This woman, Tamar Geller, goes on Oprah and writes books about how to treat your dogs like family members and her facility for dog care is a disgrace! I took my dog for an evaluation on a very hot day and the dog areas are NOT air conditioned even though everything is inside. Most of the staff is outside chatting or in the dog rooms YELLING at the dogs for their constant barking. I saw NO interaction between humans and dogs and no dog play.
