I'm always surprised by the impatient few who provide poor reviews for a wonderful, family oriented restaurant like the Lightwell. Every experience there has been comfortable, delicious, and friendly. Tonight, the waitress, Anna, was a friend we had just not met before. The Chicken Coq au Vin was spot on and the Pork Wellington was a new and wonderful treat. Dave, one of the owners, has done what many others have tried before, and failed. Wow unbelievable we walked in with 25 people and I cannot even blame the waitress she had no idea had to take an order of that nature. But the owner had the audacity to tell us if it’s done I’m on One check then we can’t help you. If you don’t like it you can leave. We are sorry that you were/are upset. We feel that we handled the situation to the best of our abilities considering the circumstances. In the restaurant business, or at least OUR restaurant business, when a group of 25 walks in unannounced with no reservation, ordering drinks and then walking away or switching seats, refusing to accept our policy of no itemized separate checks for parties over 6, AND then handing the bartender (who is also the owner) $3.00 to make your drinks quicker, we choose to pass on the business. Definitely not cheap eats, but delicious food & service - so it was worth it! Great atmosphere, clean, and had amazing food!

Awesome find after sightseeing.
Today was our first visit for dinner! The staff could not have been any friendlier and accommodating! My husband and I both got different entrees as well as two different desserts but we sampled each other’s. Everything was absolutely fabulous. I highly recommend The Light Well.
