Got several orders of rice & peas once when I was short on time & company coming. Was expecting authentic Jamaican rice & peas. A reasonable expectation from a Jamaican restaurant... But it was Very disappointing. Had to apologize to my guests. They use dry thyme! Totally changes the flavor. Not a true Jamaican rice & peas but if you never had it before you wouldn't know. Don't like that they are passing that off as authentic. A true rice & peas only has fresh thyme. Fresh & dry thyme has distinctly different flavor profiles... read more

Sorry our rice and peas didn't meet your expectations, but to correct you, we use "fresh" thyme in all our foods, not dry thyme. In addition, we pride ourselves on the fact that we do not cut corners or skimp on seasonings.
My high school friend and I sat outside on the patio. Brown Stew Snapper, Rice and Peas, Veggies and Plantains was excellent. Ordered Curry Shrimp and Rice and Peas and Jerk Pork and Hardo Bread to take home. Enjoyed it all. Music was excellent. Atmosphere conducive to hanging out. Loved it. Will definitely be back.

Drove 30 minutes on a recommendation. The food was as good as described. Jerk chicken and pork were exceptional. However, while the staff was nice, the service was painfully slow. I was told it would be a 20-30 minute wait. Ended up being an hour!! On top of this, they were out of the patties. A Jamaican restaurant that offers 4-5 different types of patties were out of all of them. How does that happen? The food was good enough for me to give it another try, hopefully the service will be better.
