The reason we chose the Ivy for my mom is the staff... they are caring and compassionate, fun and quick to fix any problem. They make my mom feel special and good about being in the Ivy community. We started out by having her stay there for respite care and were impressed with their friendliness and care so chose them for her permanent community.
What a relief to have my father-in-law in a place where he can have independence but still have help when needed. The staff is capable and so good with his quirks. The Ivy is a delightful place with plenty of opportunity for fun and community. We always feel welcome and take care of when we visit. Getting him close to us was important but so was finding a place that would give us peace of mind. The Ivy is it! It is a wonderful caring place call home, you feel it throughout from the staff a feeling of belonging and knowing you will be cared for in a special way. For myself I fell 6 times in 2017 so it was time to retire and be in a safe environment where I was safe but still a feeling of independence because of the washer and dryer in every apartment. It is like living in your own apartment with neighbors but the blessings is you really get to know your neighbors as close friends. So the feeling that it like a nursing home is gone... read more
This is home to me. A loving place to be. I believe most people know my name and I know most everyone's name, residents and staff. There is plenty to do and enjoy here, good food and entertainment. A place where you are cared about and you know it.
They serve substandard meals to residents. I feel bad for them.
