Absolutely fantastic meal! From the ox tails and rice to the sampler plantain and coconut fried shrimp...I truly enjoyed my take out meal. Next time I am in Dallas I will definitely be dining in to enjoy the live music.
I will be coming back real soon. My table had the oxtails, escovitch fish, rice and peas and bread pudding. All very good. Washed it down with Red Stripe. Worth the drive.

The owner saw my portion wasn't to standard and comp me the entire meal to make another one. If your in Carrollton. You owe yourself the trip to Island spot.
I have been missing Jamaica and was treated to an incredible take-out buffet from The Island Spot by friends while we were visiting the Dallas area this weekend. Everything was wonderful and the jerk ribs and chicken made me think momentarily I was sitting at a beach in Negril. I will definately make this a recurring stop when we are here from the east coast.
Great place for food and entertainment , bring a friend or just bring yourself and enjoy.
I was in Dallas in for only four days, however I ate at Inland Spot 3 of those four days. As a native Jamaican it can difficult finding authentic Jamaican food. On my first visit the joint it was jam packed,upon entering I felt as if I was back home from the live band that played to smell of jerk chicken we were greeted and seated in less than two mins, our server "Candice" was awesome She suggested we tried the oxtail or the fried chicken and that we did!! the oxtail was to die for.
