I absolutely adore Dr. April Kolb and her nurse, Jamie, at the Iowa Clinic on Alice's Road. I am greeted by the biggest smile and greatest enthusiasm to see me by Jamie every time I come in for an appointment. She is truly a ray of light. She was also a tremendous help in securing a medication that was difficult to get approved by insurance. Dr. Sutton is amazing. As an African American, I’ve become accustomed to not being heard or taken serious in healthcare. However, i came to Dr. Sutton not knowing what my son and I needed but he listened to my concerns and ordered labs, X-rays, and more. None of what he did was what I asked for (because you don’t know what you don’t know) but everything he did was needed! I felt so seen and heard. I’m so happy I’ve found my son and I a new PCP home! If I could leave zero stars I would the lack of communication is embarrassing, it’s almost as if no one talks to each other about anything and just says whatever they want to. Not impressed with the service received or the services seen while in their care or in the facility
Gave instructions to not eat or drink anything after 9am, gave the instruction that a liquid would be consumed an hour before the scheduled appointment time. Showed up an hour early as requested only to be told that I didn’t need the liquid and they would be calling me back to be seen an hour later. When I did get called back, the woman watched my spouse pack up our baby and stroller, and waited until she walked up to the door to tell her to stay in the waiting room.
