Invaluable work! I have just finished a tour of major observatories in the US and it broke my brain to see the mighty Hooker 100" 'scope - the engine that gave us our first sense of cosmic scale and dynamism - reduced to a museum piece because of the lights from Pasadena. The notion that the 200" on Palomar is going the same way because of lighting from casinos is just further travesty. IDA is the only coherent voice able to make a case against this waste.
