The Hungry Cat has been meowing its way to the hearts of the city's phat cats! This modern, urban bar and seafood eatery caters to the Hollywood people, who love fish and alcohol. With an outdoor patio, horseshoe shaped bar, seating capacity of about 75 and a cool vibe, this place is ideal to chill out with your buddies. The fare on the menu has influences from the east coast and creations by chef and owner David Lentz, including the likes of tuna sashimi melon salad and the famous 'pug burger.' Don't forget to try the delic... read more

Sooo disappointed – We were excited to try Hungry Cat after hearing about it on Good Food, so we made a Father's Day reservation for brunch. We waited patiently at first, but after 45 minutes, the waitress was still shuffling about, with no sign of a table. No invitation to go inside and have a drink or anything, no room inside. So, with 1 kid having to go to work, we ended up going to an inferior place for a rushed meal. Really cooled off our Father's Day plans! Why take reservations if you can't honor them?
Delish, but small, crowded and very pricey – The food is good (not the best in the world, but good enough that I'll go back), the drinks are delicious and the staff is friendly and helpful. The room, however is REALLY small, gets very crowded (don't even think about showing up during peak hours without a reservation, and get ready to hear every word of your neighbor's conversation, since the tables are about 5 inches apart), and although I do understand that good seafood isn't cheap, this place is very expensive considering ... read more
great cocktails – The drinks here are great, with fresh juice that they have right at the bar. They are refreshing and not too syrupy. The crab cakes were superb and a perfect size if you want to nibble on something before or after a movie at the arclight.
my favorite restaurant in hollywood....I've been to "The Cat" (as I call it) 11 times since they opend last march...amazing food. We love their menu...the crab cake is awesome, the yoda marinated fish is incredible (chages all the time), the one lone dish on the menu that is not seafood, The Pug Burger....OH MY GOD!!!!!!!
Delicious food...unfortunately overpriced. – Amazing cocktails got me excited for the meal. Ordered the most expensive menu item $42 for Fruits de Mere) and felt like it was half the portion we expected...the same with the fish entrees. Absolutely delicious food. But I felt like we were paying entree prices for Tapas portions. Burger, however, was a standout. Again, make sure you get cocktails...they are creative and delicious.
Bad customer service, too many busboys, not enough servers – Used to like this place. Last few times I have been I have had bad customer service. The hostess was snotty. She made us wait when there were a lot of empty tables. There were 2 hostesses when they should've had more than 2 servers. They also tried to lie and say they had only 1 type of cheese, when clearly there were other types of cheese on other dishes on the menu. As we were wrapping up our meal the hostess decided to Windex the windows 2 feet away from our tab... read more
Better Than I Expected – Having read the reviews, I thought I would be disappointed, but I wasn't. For an appetizer I had the peel and eat shrimp, which, though served cold, was tasty. For an entree I had the delicious Yoda's fresh marinated fish of the day, which was topped with greens and avocado. It was an appetizer portion at Market Price, however, so I wasn't so happy about. The wine list is long, but could have much better selections for less cost per glass. Overall, it was expensive and portions were small. However, t... read more
May I have more please! – Delicious!! I never thought I would fall in love with squid, squid salad that is. Perfectly fried squid delicately napped in a slightly spicy dressing made my mouth dance. The lobster roll in all of it's buttery glory is amazing. THe drink menu ("thirsty cat") is interesting and refreshing. I had the cuccumber martini. Amazing and clean. While the prices are a little high, once you have devoured your food, the price is absolutely worthwhile!
What was all the hype about – We had 5:30pm reservation (don't ask...we were just going to be on that side of town at that time, and we had been wanting to check this place out). We were there at 5:30pm and although the hostess was in place, the service staff was all in a meeting and she couldn't seat us until they were done which we thought was strange. It is not our problem you can't open your restaurant on time. The service was awful and when we asked our server what he recommended, he gave the lame answer that everything... read more
