The Hungry Bear originally opened as a Steer n' Stein on February 1, 1968. After changing owners in 1973 and with a new partner in 1985, Steer n' Stein began its transformation into The Hungry Bear Restaurant. Trading its hardwood floors and rustic decor for flowered upholstery, The Hungry Bear became a cozy family restaurant flaunting bears of all shapes and sizes in every nook and cranny.

Our family has two picky eaters so it is hard to find a place everyone likes. Well Hungry Bear is one of the few that we all love!! The customer service is always great and the food is delicious!! Our favorites so far are the ribeye steak, plank steak, specialty steak, hamburgers, prime rib and homemade soups!! We'll be back!!
We started eating here while dating in 1973. It was called Steer & Stein, basically the same menu. It is one of our favorites. Outstanding!
Loved my lunch,but I'm a breakfast kinda guy,I just wish you guys were open for breakfast on the weekdays,you guys might wanna keep that in mind,you guys serve great breakfast on the weekends,just wish you were open on the weekdays early.
