I'd read about The Hop online before we came to Asheville from Portland, OR on vacation. I sampled a few and settled on s'mores and salted caramel with some of their homemade hot fudge. Friendly service and great ice cream made from fresh, local ingredients!
The Hop is the best damn ice cream shop around. Wish they would expand to Charlotte, but understand their reluctance, as Asheville is a unique market and they fit right in with the vibe
I love how everytime I visit they have different flavours of ice cream. And the kiddy area is pretty cool, my daughter loves it there.
The Hop never disappoints. The staff is friendly and seems to genuinely enjoy what they do. The ice cream is consistently fantastic, second to none. Flavors are rotated frequently as the staff's creativity is endless. If you're in town on a Friday night, visit The Hop Creamery. They usually have unique flavors not available at the other Hop locations - served in 4-flavor "flights" if you like - and occasionally there are ice cream sandwiches made with fresh, local doughnuts. So good!
