Homewood Cemetery is absolutely terrible. They carried out burial plans for my husband that I told them I did not agree with and repeatedly lied about what happened. Absolutely disgusting. I'd recommend finding a more ethical cemetery.
Visited yesterday and was genuinely impressed. Homewood Cemetery is a serene, beautifully landscaped historic burial ground founded in 1878, tucked along South Dallas Ave in Pittsburgh’s East End. The winding drives, mature trees, and striking mausoleums make for a peaceful walk, and the grounds double as an accredited arboretum—lots of interesting species if you like trees. The docent at The Frick suggested a walk here. Another free activity, hooray! Lots of Guilded Age industrialists buried here, among others. Good place for a quiet walk.
