I went to the Delridge/West Seattle store today only to find many staff members not wearing face masks or practicing social distancing. At the customer service desk I was greeted by an associate without a mask on. When I asked about them not enforcing the sign posted on their door that lists the county's requirements for all customers to wear masks, she discreetly raised hers into position. Immediately got service! Plus a wonderful man named Steve helped me find a mower that was a “show room model” for $50 less than the boxed model! Would recommend this Home Depot a million times over! Always friendly helpful workers 😍 and Steve is amazing!!
Received NO customer service at Lowe's, so I went to Home Depot and it was even worse. I spent almost 30 minutes in Lowe's looking at appliances. I came prepared to buy a stove and a dishwasher. Three employees there, one helping a customer and two talking to each other. I was never acknowledged or asked if I needed assistance. I stood there waiting, and at one point the salesperson looked me dead in the eye and resumed talking to the other employee. Lost a sale.
Customer service is not what it used to be. When you call to discuss a order and the associate is having a 2 way conversation with another associate over personal business and your not the priority as the "customer" tells me they don't really have priorities straight and that just cost them my business. Proper training matters and the customer is always #1.
This weekend, I was able to easily find what I was looking for at the West Seattle Home Depot thanks to the helpful store staff - but something even more extraordinary happened. I dropped my wallet in the parking lot on my way out - and it was turned in to customer service by an honest stranger.
