I went into my local Home Depot for a light switch that had shorted out. They had tons of switches and I found what I needed without much effort. I was surprised to find a new self-service checkout machine. I guess this is the future since at the time of checkout there were no cashiers open just the self service machines. The nee machines are super easy to use and enlist a hand held scanning gun to ring up purchases. This allows for scanning large items that would otherwise have to be placed on a flat scanner.

I was at Home Depot with my 80+ plus year old father. My father is a war vet. When we asked about using his military discount there. I was told that unless he was in active duty. Or the spouse or a child of an active duty person his military discount would not be able to be utilized at this particular Home Depot. How does that really sound? The spouse that has never served can get a discount. Or the child of someone that is her can get a discount.
